Overnight Oats

If you love fruity and chocolatey flavors together, these cherry, orange, strawberry, and chocolate overnight oats are such a fun breakfast. The cherries and strawberries add natural sweetness, while the orange brings a bright citrus flavor that keeps everything feeling fresh. A touch of chocolate ties it all together and makes it feel a little like dessert, while still being nourishing and satisfying enough to start your day.

Serving Size: Two Jars

Ingredients

  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1 scoop chocolate protein powder
  • 3 tbsp chia seeds
  • ¼ cup yogurt
  • 1 cup almond milk
  • 2 mandarin oranges (diced small)
  • 10 cherries (diced small)
  • 4 strawberries (diced small)
  • 4 tbsp brownie batter oat butter (divided)

Directions

  1. Add all ingredients to a medium sized mixing bowl, except the brownie batter spread. Mix together well.
  2. To create the layered look, spread 1 tbs to the bottom of two jars.
  3. Fill the jars about halfway each with the oat mixture.
  4. Add another 1 tbsp of oat butter spread to each jar, do not stir.
  5. Top each jar with remaining oat mixture.
  6. Let the oats sit in the refrigerator overnight, or up to three days before eating
  7. When ready to serve, top with walnuts and almonds or other optional toppings of choice.

Helpful Tips

  • Feel free to customize the berries depending on what you have in your kitchen. Extra strawberries or raspberries work beautifully in this recipe.
  • To make these oats dairy free, omit the yogurt or use Silk yogurt instead
  • If omitting yogurt, I like to add a mashed banana to maintain a creamy texture.
  • I prefer rolled oats, but quick oats may be used as well for a softer consistency. Avoid using steel-cut oats, they will remain firm and chewy without cooking.
  • Brownie batter oat spread really gives it that dessert for breakfast flavor, chocolate almond butter, or any chocolate spread you have on hand would work beautifully.

Why You’ll Love This Recipe

  • The perfect fruity and chocolate combo. Sweet cherries and strawberries with a touch of chocolate create a flavor that feels a little like dessert for breakfast.
  • Bright citrus flavor. Orange adds a fresh pop that balances the sweetness and keeps the oats from feeling too heavy.
  • Great for meal prep. Make it the night before and wake up to breakfast already waiting for you.
  • Easy to customize. You can adjust the fruit or chocolate to whatever you have on hand.
